Which do I choose? –
When it comes down to it, both traditional and airbrush makeup when applied by a pro, will be made to last and be natural, so it is purely down to personal preference in which way you are swayed. I personally prefer the airbrush for special occasions, and this is down to coverage (I love the way it covers my rosacea with ease) and longevity. I know I will be able to dance the night away without worrying my base will slip right off my face at any given moment leaving me literally red-faced.
You must weigh up what your options are against your criteria. If you don’t mind nipping off every few hours to ‘touch up’ or de-shine your skin, then the traditional application is perfect for you. When your preference is no touch-up’s, lightweight and flawless, then airbrush makeup will be right up your street.
If you still can’t makeup your mind, ask your MUA to try both at your trial. I offer the service of half and half on the face if my client is unsure of which to choose, and I know others offer the option too.
At the end of the day, if you look and feel the best version of you, it really doesn’t matter. As a professional, I know it’s all down to the preparation and application. Professional MUA’s know the best way to prepare skin and apply product we also have knowledge of special techniques to give your product longevity.
As long as you prepare and prime your skin for whichever application you choose, the makeup will last the entire day and it will be the furthest thing in your mind until it’s time to remove it before bed. Oh yes, PLEASE REMOVE YOUR MAKEUP before turning in. Just because it’s your wedding day, is no excuse and believe me; your skin will thank you.
I hope that this post has given you some insight into the application and has answered some of the questions you may have. As ever, if you have any questions or concerns with anything to do with airbrush makeup please feel free to get in touch.
Much Love and happy planning people!
